logging my head

what is blogging for me?
People have number of reasons to blogging, but what is it for me?
Is it fame? popular? trend? self expression? make controversy of today issues? publish your idea?
Some of above reasons may true for me when I initially decide to sign-up in blog site.

Looking back when the first time I blog, I have no sincere reasons for blogging, and my laziness ragged me so bad, it is still there for today though.
Time passing, now I’m trying to keep blogging constantly, I’ll increase my target from once a month (soo lazy) to twice a month or once a week.

I found one of my weakness from blogging, it is that I cannot put my head on writings, structurally. Well, indeed chatting via messenger help me to put my words in writings, but it is totally different with log. How do I solve my problem? by keeping posting, reply a thread with cool mind. Anyway, it is free.
I need this, because putting my head on writings is necessary for me to pursue a master degree ;) .

Indonesia’s Draft Pornography bill – go or no go?

It’s been quite a long time for Indonesian arguing for this bill, this draft offered since 2003, yes 2003, “can you believe it? five f^%(*#% years!”. And what do we got in 2008? “… it’s same, arguing”, for some Indonesian, it’s typical, we’re noticed an issue, newspaper will blow it up, and people racing to argue about it, for numbers of years hehe :D .

There are mails coming, people give their opinions, some asking for petition either pro or contra for this bill, I always skip reading it, and always drop the idea to participate on petition. I just read the subject title, either tolak -refuse- or dukung -support-, untilllll I only receive refuse subject title -where is the others? the support one?-. Well i believe that 5 years old draft bill, which improved/revised yearly is really2 bad bill -aside that most of the time our parliament do some stupid2 things-. I read the draft bill.

After reading that draft bill, here is my opinion:
Critics – controversial how we can implement it
1. (4.1) every people is prohibited to producing, creating, copying…
It is stated “every people”, means individual. With the latest digital technology, it’s easy to create a picture and movies, or to copy, as long is not released on public. I would say it’s rediculus to control each individual private sex life, especially for legal married couple, but nor for under-age individuals (kids under 18) -refer to 1.3- . Also do not forget about medical purpose, maybe some of you remember that we’re giving Panda a porn video display to keep their tree.
and some funny rumors about checking digital content in Soekarno-Hatta international airport. Stupid.

2. (5) downloading pornography is offensive to law.
I disagree. For me, i like one restriction, provider is the villain, and audience is the victim. Provider is especially when it publish to public -website, media, etc-. So let me get clear about it, audience is victim.

3. (15) eligibility for pornography approval/permission …
LSI (Indonesia Censor body) have more authority? or a new government department for pornography? looks pathetic for the government officer who looks to pornography material for his daily life or is it look like a dream job? :D

4. Indeed that the definition of pornography can be very offensive to some institution, have you ever heard Mariah Carey – Touch My body? it is very seducing, and a very clear and explicit lyric -in fact that I like this song- :D , maybe this song should be removed from her latest album for its selling in Indonesia? or just banned the whole album? both of the action will impact materially for the album’s distributor company or just leave it, this is just one of the cases. how we should compromise with this issue.

Defend – It is clear to me what is the content of this draft bill
1. The main idea of this bill creation is to restrain the pornography material for public.
When kids says
“Mom, can i buy Bobo and Donald duck magazine?”
“Sure, go ahead” Parents will definitely doesn’t like their kids looking over bunch of playboy, hustler, penthouse, and the other adult -younameityourself- magazine. Protecting kids, it’s my concern.

2. Each local district can have their own rules.
I bet that rules in Bali must be different with rules in Aceh.

Here is some people concern comment who reject this draft bill:
- People cannot use their own traditional dress, like Kemben Bali, Dodot Java, Koteka Irian, etc.
Well, either you don’t understand, you don’t read it or you cannot read.

- hidden islamisation.
Hell no, what I understand that all religion is against pornography. I understand that some concern about hijab/jilbab in Islam, but in my opinion this draft bill is not tell you about how you should wear your dress, it is about expose and offense in public for explicit pornography. And some s.t.u.p.i.d people just stated that bikku or pendeta cannot wear their religion dress, then as well as moslem’s when they’re about to conduct Haj. Please stated carefully.

- Norm and values as the easterner will protect pornography itself.
Helooo, please look around, go to magazine store -lapak let us say ;) – watch tv news.

I support this bill.

We have problem in Indonesia about pornography spreading in public, no body can control it, my concern is for Indonesian children.
“Rome isn’t build overnight”. As a software guy, to mature the software we must make some revision and releases, you can compare windows 3.1 and windows vista ;) , i believe you’re agree that windows vista will never come to the picture if they never release windows 3.1 or even MS-DOS. Based on that they put effort -revision and releases- .

How I solve this issue,
If you’re agree that we have problem on spreading pornography in public nowadays. if agree, read next.
We have the draft bill for this problem, which is to control it and protecting children and woman -as stated on point 3.c and 3.d- . if agree, let’s make it.
I would like make the rules and fix it or revised it if the rules have some defect, it reflect to concern and responsible, rather that just said to reject the draft bill not come up with another solution. Period.

Indiana Jones – next gen?

Finally, I watched the fourth movie of Indiana Jones a couple days ago, after reading my blog’s title maybe some of you will say “Indiana Jones??? it’s soooo last year nino” :D , naaah, it’s ok for me.

I watched the previous three movies -yeah, I like it!-, and this fourth movie give the same flavor, also they’re included Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones icon, it is important for not-loosing-Indiana Jones-identity, some nostalgic feeling for the movies may involved? ;)
This movie is explicitly telling that there will have change generation from Henry Jones Jr to Henry Jones III(Shia LaBouef), we can expect the next X-quels will come -will it be?-

What I love about Indiana Jones is about how he can solve the treasure riddle? what is the mystery beneath it? how he manage to get there? what is the treasure? The Adventure. But in this movie all those question is not really impress me, just OK. My favorite mystery was the invisible bridge from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

I like Cate Blanchett do the part of “Colonel-Doctor Irina Spalko” -I’m saying it with that strong eastern Europe accent :) -

about a social networking

I bet you have at least 1 account in some social networking site. I join one of the popular social networking site as well at that time, I dont remember when is the exact time, i guess it sometime around… when i still in univ. i was not really look into that website cause i more enjoying outdoor activity rather than look much into pc and do school exercise, it was many-friends-join-there-and-asked-me-to-join which motivated me to join. But than i put more attention into this site just right after i had my first job, i had more time on PC, and i was searching contacts of friends, connecting with friends motivated me to put more time in this site. Well, outdoor activities is not reflected with me anymore, i always cursing for that :D

Right now, there is more than 40 popular social networking sites, and some country identic with particular site, like US with myspace, south-east asia with friendster, india with orkut, japan with mixi, south korea with cyworld, and also include with local social network sites. It is understandable, some country will have their own community which make them stick to one site only.

More and more social network sites has grown wild :) and force a body to make it standardize, it is not only for the money (advertising), but also for it’s trend, hip, and fame ;) . So you can imagine if we found friends who ask us “hey, go join this A site” “find me on B site” .. and so on, just crazy, it is not worth a time for me to maintain a lot of account (i guess for others too). I decided not to add another nor change.

Some undergraduates from stanford univ. smell this as a good business, they create web apps. which can connect all of these social network sites, and we can search person across them, nice idea.

And new site come to town, and i did join and maintain it, of course there’s reasons behind:
1. Most of my friends have account on this site.
2. Nice User Interface (compare to the old one, which has unbalance advertising banner .. yuck)
3. easy to use (i have complaint that initially it was not easy, it was complicated, too much features and addons scattered on main page, but they fix it recently, neat, organize page is shown now)

The important one, it is the group and RSVP application which make me encourage others to use this site. I had experience helping marko and vieda organize their Buka Puasa BBQ, make an Event, preparing lists of invitation, send it to them, and there is menu for invitee to respond, with their respond we can populate the data and decide how much food we have to prepare, budget, whether the place is enough for this number of people or not, or the place is too big, or whatever. Useful.
Later on, I want to make an event in Jember, high-school mates, class of 99, we only have mailing list to maintain communication among us, and messenger for “non-official” communication line. I sent the invitation to the mailing list, got responses, and had problem to populate it, and present it as a data. I was wondering about an application for class of 99, the member should login to this application, and it easy for me too maintain.
Should I make this application? or should i grouping people on the social network site, and make invitation accordingly? which one is better? re-invite the wheel? or optimize the other?

It is not that easy to abandon the other account, but I just hate maintain lots of account, especially when it’s better and free application ;)

They should pay me for this blog.

I’m getting married

Romadhon is over.. but it left me a good memories. I proposed Njeh, and i got the expected reaction :) , it is quite a good experience eh? consider that it was my first experience proposed someone, and I’m not doing that frequently for sure ;) hehehe.

Question:

when is the big day? “hmm im not planning to have a “big” day, just a simple one, let us see whether that’ll go big or simple. It is will not fall in this year, most probably in next year, 2009. I will update later for the exact month and date. I wish all your blessing friends.”

do you exchange rings? “it was quite sudden, and i have no plan to over do. it just simply act and execute hehe”

why? how do you feel? “no why and no how, I will not discuss it but I will only discuss it with you after you proposed :) “
